years in Oxted Surrey. Our current team of Surrey dentists

Both dentists are now working on saturdays and our hygienist works on tuesdays & thursdays . Emergency appointments are available the same day if you call first thing in the morning.
Prevention
Latest research connects acute coronary syndrome (ACS) with periodontal or
gum disease. The same bacteria have been linked in the deep pockets of gum
disease and the blood vessels of the heart. It is vitally important to
dislodge these bacteria from deep gum pockets with brushes, corsodyl gel and
other medications. This will stop the bacteria replicating.
Smoking is also a cause of gum disease and heart disease. All these factors
are inter connected and implicated in the imperfect immune response of our
human body to these bacteria.

There is a cancer awareness week in November 2008. We will be running a campaign to offer a free mouth cancer check to all comers. There will be press releases and adverts in the local media. We always check for mouth tumours on are regular patients through the year. This is carried out during the full mouth, gum and teeth examination.
We have cut x-ray dose by half as we have purchased a state of the art Kodak Eastman digital system. It gives more diagnostic information, gives less retakes of radiographs, gives a better storage and retrieval system and the results are instantly on screen. As a matter of interest the system costs £10,500.
Edmund has recently carried out continuous further education and training in implantology. The practice can now offer single tooth replacement of a single natural tooth with an implant placed tooth at a cost from £2100. The surgery is carried out in an oral surgery practice. The system used is Bicon.
